Terms of Service

1. Agreement and eligibility

These Terms are an agreement between you and AutoEditz ("we", "us") for your use of the service. They cover the macOS app, iOS companion app, web share pages, and related services. By creating an account or using AutoEditz, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

You must be legally able to enter into an agreement. If you use AutoEditz for a company or team, you confirm that you have permission to accept these Terms for that organization.

2. The service and your account

AutoEditz lets you record your screen, edit recordings, create step-by-step guides, generate narration, publish to connected platforms, and share videos or guides online. Local recording and editing can work without an account. An account is required for features such as cloud storage, share links, cloud AI, teams, and subscriptions.

You are responsible for your account and for activity carried out through it. Keep your sign-in details safe and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

3. Connected services

Some features connect to Google, YouTube, Google Drive, Reddit, Vimeo, Instagram, Facebook Pages, Threads, Bluesky, or Discord. You choose whether to connect them. You can disconnect them at any time, but the related feature may stop working.

By using AutoEditz features that access YouTube API Services, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. You can learn more about Google's privacy practices at the Google Privacy Policy.

Your use of a connected platform remains subject to that platform's own terms and policies. You are responsible for keeping connected accounts in good standing and for the content published through them.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of your recordings, screenshots, audio, text, SOPs, and other content you create or upload. We do not claim ownership of it. Only record, edit, upload, or share content when you have the rights and permissions to do so.

When you use a feature that requires us to handle your content, you give us a limited, non-exclusive permission to store, process, transmit, display, and secure it only as needed to provide that feature. For example, a share link allows us to host and show the video and guide to anyone who receives the link. Do not use a share link for confidential material unless you understand who can access it. This permission ends when the content is deleted, except where limited retention is required by law or needed for security and disputes.

You are responsible for making sure you have the rights, permissions, and notices needed for anything you record or share. Do not record or publish private, confidential, copyrighted, or personal content unless you are allowed to do so.

5. Teams and notifications

Team administrators are responsible for inviting members, assigning SOPs, and choosing what content the team can access. Team members are responsible for using assigned content appropriately. Removing a member or leaving a team can end access to that team's content.

If you enable SOP update notifications, you confirm that you have a lawful reason to provide recipient email addresses and send those notifications. Recipients can unsubscribe from notification emails.

6. Acceptable use

Use AutoEditz lawfully and respectfully. You must not:

• Record, upload, or share illegal, abusive, deceptive, harassing, or harmful content.
• Infringe copyright, privacy, trademark, or other rights.
• Upload malware, phishing material, spam, or child sexual abuse material.
• Try to break, overload, scrape, reverse-engineer, or bypass security or usage limits.
• Impersonate another person or organization or use AutoEditz to harm someone.
• Use a connected platform in a way that violates its rules.

We may remove content or restrict access when needed to protect people, the service, or third-party platforms, or to comply with law.

7. Copyright and reports

If you believe a shared video or guide infringes your copyright or another right, email help@autoeditz.com with the share link and enough information for us to review the concern. We may remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law.

8. AI features

AutoEditz may use on-device models and cloud AI to create titles, chapters, captions, SOP text, images, and narration. AI output is provided as a starting point, not a guarantee. It may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your situation.

Review AI-generated content before you rely on it, send it to others, or publish it. You remain responsible for the final content and any decision you make using it.

9. Subscriptions and payments

Some AutoEditz features require a paid plan or AI credits. The app shows the applicable price, plan, and included usage when you purchase. Apple processes App Store payments, and RevenueCat helps us manage subscription access. We do not receive your full payment-card details.

Subscriptions, renewals, cancellations, and refunds are also governed by the Apple App Store terms. Cancel through the App Store account that manages your subscription. Unless applicable law or the purchase terms say otherwise, cancellation stops future renewals but does not automatically refund amounts already paid.

10. Third-party services

AutoEditz depends on services we do not control, including cloud hosting, authentication, AI, email, app-store, and publishing providers. We are not responsible for their availability, changes, account actions, content policies, or terms.

11. Changes and availability

AutoEditz will change as we improve it. We may add, modify, limit, or discontinue features. We aim to keep the service available, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, updates, network problems, third-party outages, and events outside our control can affect availability.

12. Suspension and termination

You may stop using AutoEditz at any time and delete your shares. We may limit, suspend, or end access if you violate these Terms, create a security or legal risk, fail to pay applicable fees, or if action is required by law or a connected platform. We may act immediately for serious abuse, fraud, spam, or security threats.

You can delete your account from the app (Profile → Delete Account). Account deletion permanently removes your account, all shared recordings, SOP documents, team memberships, credit balance, and associated data. Active subscriptions should be cancelled in the App Store before deleting your account — deletion does not automatically cancel App Store subscriptions. This action cannot be undone.

Terms that should continue after access ends—such as ownership, acceptable use, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, and dispute terms—will continue to apply. Our Privacy Policy explains what happens to information after termination.

13. Ownership of AutoEditz

AutoEditz, including its software, design, documentation, trademarks, and service technology, belongs to us or our licensors. These Terms give you permission to use the service; they do not transfer ownership to you.

If you send us suggestions or feedback, you allow us to use them to improve AutoEditz without compensation or obligation to you.

14. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AutoEditz is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not promise that the service will be accurate, secure, uninterrupted, or suitable for every purpose. We disclaim implied warranties such as merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement only to the extent the law allows.

Nothing in these Terms removes a consumer right or other protection that cannot legally be removed.

15. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive loss, or for lost data, profits, revenue, goodwill, or business opportunities resulting from your use of or inability to use AutoEditz.

Our total liability for claims related to AutoEditz will not exceed the greater of what you paid us during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or the minimum amount required by applicable law. This limit does not apply to liability that cannot legally be limited.

16. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to protect us and our officers and employees from third-party claims, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your content, your use of AutoEditz, your violation of these Terms or law, or your infringement of someone else's rights.

17. Korean law and general terms

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in Seoul will have jurisdiction, except where mandatory law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.

If one part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest remains effective. Not enforcing a provision immediately does not waive our right to enforce it later. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the agreement between you and us about AutoEditz. We may assign them as part of a reorganization or transfer of the service; you may not assign them without our consent.

If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation. If you are a California resident, nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act. Where these Terms conflict with mandatory local consumer protection law, the local law prevails.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when AutoEditz or applicable law changes. We will post the new version and update the effective date. If a material change affects your rights, we will provide additional notice where required. Continuing to use AutoEditz after the new effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
