Before you start

AutoEditz is a native Mac app and requires macOS 26.4 or later. Core recording, editing, transcription, and local guide generation work without an AutoEditz account.

Your first recording

  1. Get AutoEditz

    Open the download page and follow the steps to install AutoEditz on your Mac.

  2. Choose what to record

    Pick a full display, a single window, or a custom region.

  3. Allow screen recording

    Approve Screen Recording access when macOS asks. Microphone and camera access are optional and requested only when you turn them on.

  4. Record the process once

    Walk through the task at a natural pace, then stop the recording.

  5. Review and generate

    Open the recording in the editor, review the detected steps in the Steps inspector, and choose Generate SOP.

  6. Export or share

    Export the video or the guide, or publish once and send a single link.

What you get

A polished video with auto-zoom and click effects, an editable guide with annotated screenshots, and, when you publish, one link where viewers choose the video or the step-by-step guide in any browser.
